Hope for Phillippines
By Father James Reuter, S.J.
By her own admission, GMA (Gloria Macapagal Arroyo) rightfully assessed that over the last decades; our republic has become one of the weakest, steadily left behind by its more progressive neighbors.' Forty years ago, we were only second to Japan in economic stature, and way ahead of Singapore , Hong Kong , Malaysia , and Thailand . Today, at our present growth rate, it will take us 30 years to get to where Thailand is.
1. A population of 160 Million;
2. Of those, 70 to 90 million (equivalent to our current population) will live below the poverty line;
3. Our national debt is estimated to be at US$200B (compared to US$28B when Marcos fled, and US$53B today);
4. We will be competing, not against Thailand or even Vietnam , but against Bangladesh ;
5. We will be the most corrupt nation in Asia , if not in the world (we're already ranked 11th most corrupt nation by Transparency International) ..
The signs are clear. Our nation is headed towards an irreversible path of economic decline and moral decadence. It is not for lack of effort. We've seen many men and women of integrity in and out of government, NGOs, church groups & people's organization devote themselves to the task of nation-building, often times against insurmountable odds.
But not even two people's revolutions, bloodless as they may be, have made a dent in reversing this trend. At best, we have moved one step forward, but three steps backward.
We need a force far greater than our collective efforts, as a people, can ever hope to muster. It is time to move the battle to the spiritual realm. It's time to claim GOD's promise of healing of the land for His people. It's time to gather GOD's people on its knees to pray for the economic recovery and moral reformation of our nation.
Is prayer really the answer? Before you dismiss this as just another rambling of a religious fanatic, I'd like you to consider some lessons we can glean from history.
England 's ascendancy to world power was preceded by the Reformation, a spiritual revival fueled by intense prayers.
The early American settlers built the foundation that would make it the most powerful nation today - a strong faith in GOD and a disciplined prayer life. Throughout its history, and especially at its major turning points, waves of revival and prayer movement swept across the land.
In recent times, we see Korea as a nation experiencing revival and in the process producing the largest Christian church in the world today, led by Rev. Paul Yongi Cho. No wonder it has emerged as a strong nation when other economies around it are faltering.
Even from a purely secular viewpoint, it makes a lot of sense. For here there is genuine humbling & seeking of GOD through prayer, moral reformation necessarily follows. And this, in turn, will lead to general prosperity. YES, we believe prayer can make a difference. It's our only hope..
Today, we launch this email brigade, to inform Filipinos from all over the world to pray, as a people, for the economic recovery and moral reformation of our nation. We do not ask for much. We only ask for 5 minutes of your time in a day, to fwd this email to your close friends and relatives.
This is the kind of unity which can make a big difference. Of course, if you feel strongly, as I do, about the power of prayer, you can be more involved by starting your own prayer group or prayer center.
We have tried people power twice; in both cases, it fell short. Maybe it's time to try prayer power. GOD never fails. Is there hope? YES! We can rely on God's promise, but we have to do our part. If we humble ourselves and pray as a people, GOD will heal our land. By GOD's grace, we may yet see a better future for our children.
'If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.'(2 Chronicles 7:14).
If you care for your children and grandchildren, PLEASE pass this on. .. ..
Let's not just abandon the Philippines

You Are Responsible
Perhaps the most important personal choice you can make is to accept complete responsibility for everything you are and everything you will ever be. This is the great turning point in life. The acceptance of personal responsibility is what separates the superior person from the average person. Personal responsibility is the pre-eminent trait of leadership and the wellspring of high performance in every person, in every situation.
The acceptance of complete responsibility for your life means that you refuse to make excuses or to blame others for anything in your life that you’re not happy about. You refuse, from this moment forward, to criticize others for any reason. You refuse to complain about your situation or about what has happened in the past. You eliminate all your “if only’s” and “what if’s” and focus instead on what you really want and where you are going.
If you are not happy with any part of your life, say, “I am responsible” and get busy changing it. If something goes wrong, accept responsibility and begin looking for a solution. If you are not happy with your current income, accept responsibility and begin doing those things that are necessary for you to increase it. If you are not happy with the amount of time you are spending with your family, accept responsibility for that as well and begin doing something about it.
When you accept responsibility, you feel personally powerful. The acceptance of responsibility gives you a tremendous sense of control over yourself and your life. The more responsibility you accept, the more confidence and energy you have. The more responsibility you accept, the more capable and competent you feel.
The acceptance of responsibility is the foundation of high self-esteem, self-respect, and personal pride. The acceptance of personal responsibility lies at the core of the personality of every outstanding man or woman.
On the other hand, when you make excuses, blame other people, complain, or criticize, you give your power away. You weaken yourself and your resolve. You turn over control of your emotions to the people and situations you are blaming or complaining about.
You do not escape responsibility by attempting to pass it off onto other people. You are still responsible. But you give up a sense of control over your life. You begin to feel like a victim and see yourself as a victim. You become passive and resigned rather than powerful and proactive. Instead of feeling on top of your world, you feel as if your world is on top of you. This way of thinking leads you up a blind alley from which there is no escape. It is a dead-end road on which you should refuse to travel.
See Yourself as Self-Employed
When you accept complete responsibility for your life, you begin to view yourself as self-employed, no matter who signs your paycheck. You see yourself as the president of your own personal service corporation. You see yourself as an entrepreneur heading up a company with one employee — yourself. You see yourself as responsible for selling one product — your personal services — into a competitive marketplace. You see yourself as completely responsible for every element of your work, for production, quality control, training and development, communications, strategy, productivity improvement, and finances. You refuse to make excuses. Instead, you make progress.

Prevaricator ilk
Exchanging glances, thoughts and laughter's,
Unfathomable happiness commove to heaven
Beyond mysteries of love;
Yearningly love contemptuous distant relationship,
Hope for love even age tagged
Like gold contending glitters of the sun,
Bonny smile lay beneath.
She waited all her life crossing this line;
To the only thing that's true,
Falling in love with someone she didn’t see
Like blind bird flown in the sky.
Desiring nothing with prevaricator ilk,
But with all that smoke there must be a fire somewhere.
-- Prevaricator ilk serenity divulged.

Great Value Shop at your convenience
Well, thank to a service that was recently launched in the US, all these problems are now a thing of the past. Zlio isn’t just the world’s most innovative e-commerce service ever launched - it’s also pure genius! It allows you to create your own internet store, even if you have nothing to sell! All you need to do is to go to their website, create a store (takes less than three minutes) and fill it with products from their directory (which gives you a choice of over three million products, from most of the internet’s top merchants). You don’t need to know anything about programming or making websites unless you want to – all that garbage is dealt with by them (and they make your shop look really pretty as well).
Once your shop’s up and running, all you need to do is advertise it round (family, friends, your blog…) Zlio even provides all kinds of tools to help you do that. And then, when people log on and buy anything from it, you get a commission from the supplier. But best of all, you don’t even need to worry about handling the product yourself – it’s shipped straight from the merchant to your customer. All you ever need to handle is the cash!
So next time someone asks you where you got that incredible book/watch/shoe/couch/computer/remote controlled helicopter/etc… make sure you’re be able to send them to your ZlioShop and to get your cut on the way! With over 100 000 people who have already created stores with us (some of whom now make over $750 a month!) and over 2.5 million unique visitors a month, you just can’t go wrong!

DISCIPLINE
When I was a young boy, age 5, I lived with my Grandmother’s house together with my elder sister. At young age I was trained to do things differently; to elaborate further, I was trained to do; household chores, farming, cooking, table manner and even slaughtering chickens, washing clothes with my bare hands, trained to determine what’s right from wrong, proper manner, right conduct and good deeds, these are as far as I remember.
We are trained differently including the animals that we had, such as dogs, cats, chicken.
I remember and I will never forget the discipline what my grandmother does; each of us including animals has its own discipline in regards to calling, feeding and etc.
Each of us had a code for calling through bell, if the bell rang, all of us will stop whatever work we had just to pay attention to the bell, even the animals, whatever they are doing, they will stop just to wait attentively to the bell ringing. Nobody and no one ignore the bell or else you’ll be in trouble and punished.
If you have a single mistake, you’ll be in trouble; you will be punished accordingly identical to mistakes you’d made.
Years and years had passed, my grandmother teaches me how to cook sweet & sour fish dishes, I admit I made a mistake while frying the fish, I took her towel to use as hand globes to a very hot frying pan due to sudden fear that the fish will be burned. I was nervous and I don’t know what to do, I didn’t even thought instead of hand globes I took her face towel and that was my big mistake and to tell the truth I was in trouble.
I had very hard and worthy punishment, she will going to put hot chili on my eyes because I am blind and not careful to things I had seen. But I run away because of too much fear I felt and that was the first rebellion I made and never came back to my grandmother’s house until and even to her death.
I am now 33 years of age and happily married, blessed with one handsome boy, for many years had passed; I’d realized the beauty and important the discipline what my grandmother put forth. She taught me how to be responsible and being responsible to the things I will manifest in the future, she taught me to be more discipline than what other person has, she taught me to accept great personal responsibility but I ignore it and that was my big Mistake. If I could rewind back the past I would prefer to stay at my grandmother’s house and continue to gain and acquire knowledge from her but it’s too late, past had passed and I don’t have recourse to reel back.
One thing I remember when feeding; dogs will not come along if they will hear the bell which is not for them and so as the cat and chicken. What a beauty of discipline I can imagine- but too late.
All I have to do now is to be more discipline, Perhaps the most important personal choice I should make is to accept complete responsibility for everything I am and everything I will ever be. This is the great turning point in my life.
-to my grandma, thank you for the discipline that you bestowed to me.

Burden of a Child
Maturate in absence of engendered;
Ruthlessness in his heart that lingers,
Tears in his eyes gushed like morning dew.
My heart shed bloods when I see my mother cries,
Suffering from burdens induced by my father-
Construing mother’s barefoot with thorns,
Nothing to do but weeps-
I remember that day as clearly as I can see today.
Sadness and despair washed over me like sweat on a hot, humid day.
I lost all touch with reality--
My heart, mind, soul, my spirit, suddenly just gave up on life.
Despair and anguish were like an infection running through my system. Hopelessness and thoughts of being a failure were lies raging within my very soul.
Brimming over with decadent burden and sorrow-
